Overview:

The role requires a strong background in Oracle Database Administration across multiple versions (9i, 10g, 11g, 12c, 18c & 19c) with over 7 years of experience, including hands-on expertise in performance tuning, capacity management, backup and recovery, security, and patch management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate database server hardware and define, recommend, and maintain database standards and architecture.
  • Manage future release planning for databases/instances and conduct impact analysis.
  • Independently handle 3rd party vendor support and client interactions, including troubleshooting (TAR) and OS issues.
  • Mentor junior DBAs (L1 and L2) and diagnose clustered environments.
  • Perform advanced database performance tuning including applications, instance/kernel parameters, and memory tuning using AWR and ADDM reports.
  • Manage advanced replication, queuing, and streams technologies.
  • Utilize flash recovery features and flashback query for data recovery purposes.
  • Design capacity management strategies to handle database growth.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and other RDBMS technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with Sun, Veritas, and Microsoft clustering technologies; database migration, installation, upgrades, and patching.
  • Design and recommend database security policies and implement enhancements to improve reliability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Enforce security policies via administrative, preventive, detective, and reactive controls including change, configuration, and patch management.
  • Strong knowledge of database backup and recovery concepts and Data Guard administration.
  • Operations focus on Oracle RAC (10g/11g/12c) including installation, configuration, and tuning.
  • Expertise in Oracle ASM installation, configuration, and administration.
  • Install, upgrade, patch database software and related application packages.
  • Conduct security assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Experience with Oracle 12c Grid OEM for monitoring, administration, and performance analysis.
  • Troubleshoot and monitor batch jobs and related issues.
  • Collaborate effectively within team and cross-functional projects.
  • Basic understanding of ITIL processes and willingness to work in 24×7 environments.


Certifications:

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) - Essential
  • Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) - Desired


Additional Skills (Advantageous):

  • Knowledge of HVR replication, EXADATA, Golden Gate technologies.

  • Willingness to work in a 24×7 operational environment
  • OCP certification is mandatory; OCE certification preferred
